Technical space mining game
I Fetch Rocks is a premium simulation game for PC developed by SarumXR. It is a first-person VR space mining adventure where players will embark on a new career as an asteroid miner and hauler. However, they have been issued a bare-bones cargo ship that they must configure themselves to proper working order to fulfill their job without danger or issue.
Nodes and wires
The game takes place in the distant future, wherein you land a job as a space miner and are issued a company Asteroid Hauler to travel between Mars and Jupiter, and haul ores and minerals along the way. The catch is that you have to assemble and configure how everything works yourself by utilizing a node-based system, from flight controls to core ship operations, and even life support functions.
Connect nodes through red wires to distribute power and green wires to transfer input data from the user. Once everything is hooked up, you can do a test flight to check if everything works as intended, or redo your wiring to fix any issues. Suffice it to say, I Fetch Rocks is one of the more complex and technical sim experiences out there, and some players will encounter a sharp learning curve that they need to overcome
More than mining asteroids
All in all, I Fetch Rocks offers a unique space mining sim experience that is a lot more technical than what you might expect, leaning heavily into engineering mechanics to get things going. If you want something different and are up to the challenge of learning its complex systems, give this one a shot and see how well you will fare.
